“I was lucky enough to go on five projects from 2004-2008: to Ghana (twice), Uganda, Kenya, and India. Each project presented its own unique challenges and opportunities, but one thing remained constant – on each project I made lifelong friendships. Not only with the other volunteers, but also with people in the communities we were living in. My experience working with those less fortunate than myself drove my passion for my career as a journalist. I now live in America, but when I come back to Scotland, some of the first people I want to see are my fellow Lasallian volunteers.”
